Anyone that knows me will tell you that I am a giver. I love being able to bless people. It’s one of my
deepest desires. 2 Corinthians 9:6-7 says “The point is this: whoever sows sparingly will also
reap sparingly, and whoever sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. Each one must give as
he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.”
I love to give as the spirit of God leads me & it brings me great joy.
Giving is more than just material things. We can give of our time, talents, a smile, a hug, prayer,
encouragement & just a word to tell someone you love them. Let your giving be genuine & it will
IMPACT the person you are giving it to. Giving usually requires sacrifice & that’s when it will
bear fruit that remains on the Earth & into eternity. I remember when David said in 2 Samuel
24:24 that he would not give God anything that did not cost him anything. Giving will cost you
something!
God spoke to me & said giving is great & he loves givers, but we must remember that Charity
begins at home. I had to ponder this revelation. Is God saying be selfish & only give to those in
my home? Absolutely not! God was teaching me a valuable lesson. I should be practicing what I
preach at home first or that would make me a hypocrite. How can I give to strangers but I’m not
willing to sacrifice & give to those in my own house. Now I get up every morning & try to figure
out how I can give cheerfully to everyone in my house. How can I encourage them & be a
blessing to them. Don’t let the familiarity of your family stop you from serving them before you
serve the world. As one of my old Pastors would say, May I Have Your Order Please. This
should be your humble statement to those in your house daily.
Lets Go & Impact a Life!
